European Geosciences Union’s annual General Assembly (EGU 2025)

The European Geosciences Union’s annual General Assembly (EGU 2025) will be attended by a large delegation from IIASA, as well as a representative from the University of Leipzig. From the EO4BK project, the team will attend sessions related to the bookkeeping model development such as those related to the carbon cycle and land use, land management, and land cover change (LULCC), among others. Latest developments of the OSCAR model, which is integral to the EO4BK project, will also be presented by the project’s Scientific Coordinator.

Living Planet Symposium 2025

The Living Planet Symposium will be attended by representatives from IIASA and the University of Exeter, offering an always-welcome opportunity for in-person discussions and collaboration for the project. The LPS is held to present and discuss the latest developments in satellite data and technological innovations that support the transition from observation to action for a sustainable Earth. The EO4BK project will engage with stakeholders in the satellite & earth observation fields to enhance our network and to source new ideas to apply towards the project’s objectives. EO4BK will have a poster and present during the session B.02.05 Restoring Biosphere Resilience: Transforming Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (AFOLU) from Carbon Source to Sink on June 25th.

August 2024

Kick-off meeting at ESA ESRIN

All partners and the ESA technical officer met on August 29 at ESA's European Space Research Institute (ESRIN) in Frascati, Italy. Detailed plans were laid out for the first half of the project. This was also an opportunity to discuss synergies with EO4BK's sister project EO-LINCS.
